Biography
I am Patrisha Louisse O. Sales, but I am more known as Trisha Sales by my peers and online friends. I was born on June 9, 1991 in the city of Calamba, Laguna where it feels more like living in a suburban sprawl.
I am a sixteen-year-old girl who is truly fascinated with art, music, and literature in general. I usually do the geekiest things you could think of during summer holidays. I like doing crochet, writing, reading Sherlock Holmes stories and some poetry (preferably those by William Shakespeare, Lord Alfred Tennyson, Emily Dickinson, and Elizabeth Barrett Browning), surfing the net, manipulating/editing photographs, fixing and making new layouts for my personal website, and anything that just suddenly goes through my head.
I am a certified internet addict. I cannot last a day without opening my personal computer and connecting to the internet. For almost four years, the internet had been my sanctuary and I have grown quite fond of it as the time comes. Right now I am still practicing my web designing skills and reading free tutorials in the internet about them.
It was in the year 2004 when I started having an interest in web design. I was in my sophomore year in high school that time and we were taught the basic elements of a web page. Since then, I became addicted to making local web pages in my computer with only Notepad, Paint, and Internet Explorer as my tools.
After a while, I got bored with just having them on my computer. Not long afterwards, I had my first official blog during my third year at Blogdrive.com which I called Guitar Plan. A little later that year, I decided to make an extension of the blog and I signed up for an account at Freewebs.com with the website name A Wish Forgotten, a phrase I have grown fond of because of my favorite Aaron Carter music video.
Just by trial and error and some help from free tutorials online about web codes and layouting, I started making layouts for myself. The first major layout that I did had my own photos and some text with the lyrics from the movie Thumbelina's Let Me Be Your Wings. Unfortunately, I have lost the copy of the main codes of the template so I cannot show it to you in full details.
However, the very major layout that I did was inspired by the teen drama One Tree Hill and William Ernest Henley's Invictus. The layout is still up and running as it is still the main template that I use for my old blog. If you want to check it out, click here.
Later in 2006, I came upon Skyefairy.net, a creative arts website owned by Skye and I found myself in awe with the design and layout of her website. It was practically the best layout I have seen on the internet that I kept coming back.
It was Skyefairy.net that inspired me to learn more about web design. Skye offered free hosting in her site and I plucked up the courage to send her a request for hosting with the link to my previous blog. Fortunately, she was kind enough to give me the subdomain hosting plan and even offered to help me if I found anything difficult.
Because Skye had been nice enough to offer some help during my difficulties, I became more and more patient with doing codes for layouts and learning more for improvement. As of now, I have learned how to use cascading stylesheets and php includes to easily edit my webpages. I am still planning to learn more about PHP and MYSQL this summer and hope to learn even more in my Computer Science course here in UPLB.
